Disconnected and reconnected the Intel AGN card with no effect.

Wireless diagnostics say the wireless switch is disabled. I was debating whether to buy a new wireless card but don't know whether the switch is separate from it in which case replacing the card won't help. Wireless card seems to be correctly showing up in Device Manager and I have repeatedly re-installed it.

It is the 5 bright buttons above the Fn keyboard characters. The wireless hard switch is located directly above the F8 keyboard character.
