Made the mistake and the help is very bad been 1 month. Told help cant see screen only to be told take photo of screen and also go to settings and try this and that. I read an article about the foul mouthed childish temper tantrum Harvey Norman CEO had thrown about Kogan, so have tried to stay away from Harvey Norman…. Then last week after really I got tired of fighting with the jumpy functionality of the Harvey Norman site I and after seeing how halfheartedly the specs are loaded on the Harvey Norman website obviously they have some poor school leaver manually capturing all the product specs instead of auto syncing it from a supplier portal.

I had decided to can Harvey Norman for good and go with Kogan, but after reading this review I think I will give them both a wide berth now…. I purchased a 50incg smart tv from kogan and it arrived last Tuesday night approx 9pm. Opened it and plugged in straight away only to find all that appears on the tv in vertical white lines, no picture and no sound. It even has return written in black texta on outside of box!

I have sent numerous emails to kogan but no response! Any ideas as to what to do?? Tried to get customer service but no luck, I asked around how much it would cost to get repaired, The response was toss it and buy a new set.. It will be covered. An expensive TV would probably be a different story. I repaired it myself a year ago and has been going fine ever since. All of the writing on the remote control buttons wore away after the first three years, meaning we now have a perfectly black remote control which either has to be operated by guess work or from your own memory of where the buttons are located.

Everyone in my household still hates it. We still use it because we want to keep it out of landfill for as long as possible. Honestly, I really like my TV. For a few people, perhaps, but not for me.

Put old tv in spare room over 5 yo and speakers failing a bit but can watch it without specs on!

Seems that colour is readjusting minute by minute. However, we wanted to delete all unwanted chanels…racing, shopping, radio…but looks like cant be done, also last night wanted to mark programs for later watching and cant do that either.

At this point i have looked online to find this site…only 2 hours use…hard to read program info, lots of reflection on screen…im sure there is a lot more wrong nothing is going very good at all. Also bought a so called smart TV. I hope all these people realise there is further action you can take if Kogan are not forthcoming with there after sales service. Even though warranties state that they might be for 12 months, you should expect that the tv should last a lot longer than that, as does the consumer protection authority, so they will assist in a claim even if Kogan do not. Then there is the Ombudman… do not accept shoddy products guys — stick it in to them. Relax Steve.

One developed a few dead pixels. Kogan replaced it. Sent back in original packing after 4 months and got refund. Electrically works Ok, construction looks good, But who said you can fry anything golden without basting with oil, except fish, bacon? Absolutely as essential as a hot shower. KOGAN, seem to not care about their reputation at all. After over 30 emails between KOGAN and me, all we received was a a pro forma email from them nearly every time. I purchased a Samsung Tablet. The Tablet screen Was frozen. I tried everything turned off reboot nothing fixed the problem. I called Kogan service. I suspect in Philippines. They wanted me to send pictures of frozen scene? What does this prove After 20 emails l had to send at my cost to Melbourne.

They agreed it we faulty and make a refund. But not for postage. I was very annoyed with poor service. So desided to call Samsung Australia. Called there service number took me back to a call centre in Asia. Not going enough Samsung. Kogan continued to send me emails for 2 weeks after l had received my refund. Buy from you local retailer even if you pay a little more. Bought 24 inch kogan 2 volt Tele for my boat 6 years ago, still going great, replacing it with smart tv from kogan, 12 v again, hopefully will not have above issues.

For home though, I would never go online for tv, be patient and wait for sales, I bought samsung smart tv 55 inch for For the first 5 weeks it would turn itself off. After turning power off and then on at the wall I had to wait for it to reset. Sometimes I would lose the picture but still had audio. Now the colours on the screen are out of kilter and I have continuing closed caption when I turn to free to air. Kogans help desk told me they would have a look at the tv…. If the problem was on our side then we would be up for costs for the report and couriers.

Contacted support and they suggested updating the firmware, resetting TV to default factory settings etc but to no avail.

Now they want the TV to be examined to work out the fault before taking the next steps ie returning, replacement etc. I can concur with the awful customer service with kogan. What I received by courier delivery was one size foot differing from the other ie size Left Well after talking to their customer service, I would rate it as the worst ever in the history of online purchases. And this was in No photos would be accepted. This was not advertised on their website — they were not advertised as defective or 2nds — WTF?
