Why does everyone hate jenny humphrey

Soon after, Jenny is tested when she chooses being queen over her friendship with Eric and the two begin to fight How to Succeed in Bassness. He brings Jenny onto his operation and the two become close, eventually beginning to date in The Lady Vanished.

However, since Damien is older than Jenny, he becomes interested in wanting to have sex with her. Jenny is onboard until she realizes her virginity is a bigger deal than Damien made it out to be, so the two break up The Sixteen Year Old Virgin. Meanwhile, Jenny begins crushing on Nate and works to break up his relationship with Serena.

In Inglourious Bassterds she learns Serena has left the state to find her father, William van der Woodsen , with Carter and chooses not to tell Nate the information. She uses his anger toward Serena to advance her intentions toward him but he rejects her Dr.

Later that night, while researching Lily's cancer, Jenny realizes that the medicine William is prescribing her is not effective at healing. However, Jenny sabotages the scheme in order to break Rufus and Lily up so she can return to her life in Brooklyn.

William is able to get away but Rufus and Lily choose to stay together. The next day, Jenny walks in on Serena and Dan sleeping together at the loft.

She sends a photo to Gossip Girl; but when Blair finds out, she confronts her and reminds her that no one loves her and she will stay a nobody. Right after, Rufus tells Jenny that he and Alison mutually agreed that the best decision is for her to move to Hudson and finish high school there.

Chuck, having just been rejected by Blair, is heartbroken and lonely; and the two subsequently have sex, causing Jenny to lose her virginity to him. However, she regrets it almost immediately and tells Eric and Dan. Jenny makes her first appearance of the season in Easy J , when Chuck, who is warring with Blair, gets her an interview with Tim Gunn.

When Blair finds out Jenny has returned she issues her a day pass; in exchange for Jenny not returning for the rest of the year, holidays included, and her leaving right after her interview without going anywhere else.

However, Chuck is able to trick Jenny into coming by The Empire, leading Blair to sabotage her interview. Later that day, Jenny outs herself for sleeping with Chuck and pronounces that her leaving town was the best decision for her. Right after, she leaves to go back to Hudson. However, unbeknownst to her, Juliet drugs Serena to make sure her reputation is ruined for good. In Gaslit Rufus asks Jenny to come home to support Lily and Serena but Vanessa, who is worried about her reputation with the Humphrey's being ruined with what happened, reveals that Jenny was behind Serena's apparent overdose.

Jenny tries to explain that they worked as a team but Rufus doesn't believe her. She then goes to see Blair, whom she tells the whole story to. Blair asks her to stay behind and help but Jenny declines, saying she needs to stay away from the drama of the UES. It's revealed that she has a line with Waldorf Designs called J for Waldorf and that she knew for a long time that Dan was Gossip Girl. Jenny is tall and skinny, with blonde hair that changes from short to long depending on the season.

Due to her being interested in fashion, her style is often chic and well put together. In the early seasons, her clothing is more colorful but that changes in her later appearances, where black and grey are her staple colors.

Taylor Momsen has been quoted as saying that the stylists on Gossip Girl take the styling choices of each character very seriously; down to how much eyeliner is worn. Kids still thought smoking was cool! Blair didn't go to Yale.

The girl deserved to go to f—king Yale—and she went in the books. Show plot logistics, be damned! The show was on The CW. Most of the show's problems were rooted in this. Gossip Girl was a wildly provocative, dark, and indulgent book series. The show was racy, yes, but putting it on basic cable prevented it from reaching its full potential.

The naughtiness of these underage characters existed in their nuances: the weed, the cigarettes, the neuroses. The CW watered down all of this. Unfortunately, the show never quite reached the "OMFG" level of its scandalous source material—despite a clever season two promotional campaign that suggested otherwise.

On Thanksgiving in Gaslit , Serena wakes from her overdose and calls for an ambulance. Upon hearing about what happened, Lily has her committed to involuntary rehab. Serena is adamant that she didn't do it, and believes so until a photo of her doing cocaine appears on Gossip Girl.

Realizing that maybe she did do it, she admits herself back to The Ostroff Center. Meanwhile, Juliet warns Vanessa and Jenny not to come clean about what they did. She then plans to leave town and packs up her apartment. Before she goes, she collects a check from Lily, saying she won't expose anything about Serena as long as she keeps getting paid. When Jenny tries to see her later, she discovers that she has left and brings Blair evidence that Juliet, not Serena, did the drugs and caused the overdose.

While there, they run into Damien Dalgaard , who helps them piece everything together. He explains that when Serena attended The Knightley School , she had an alleged affair with her English teacher, Ben, and that he was fired for sleeping with a student right after Serena left the school. They end up visiting Juliet's mother's house, and they then discover that Ben and Juliet are brother and sister.

Meanwhile, in rehab, Serena is telling the whole story to a therapist. She explains that while she harbored a major crush on Ben, nothing ever happened between them. At the same time, Juliet informs Ben that she's done with their plans and is going to confront Serena herself. After they talk, Serena realizes that Lily is the one who had Ben sent to prison.

On her way out, Juliet swears she isn't going to hurt Serena or anyone else ever again. She's seen reading the blast on a street and responding with "You have got to be kidding me. She pursues Nate when he's with Serena and it's uncomfortable to watch. Nate genuinely doesn't seem to reciprocate her feelings but it doesn't dissuade Jenny, who even kisses him when he's clearly not consenting.

It throws up huge problems for him and Serena too. Granted, Jenny has just been through a horrible ordeal and is acting out, but this is not okay. Serena thinks she's doing a nice thing by throwing Jenny an awesome sixteenth birthday party, but it's clearly a misfire in judgment when Jenny doesn't love the idea. To be fair to Jenny, she's pretty upfront about what she wants and Serena goes against her anyway, so it's no surprise to fans when she's blatantly uncomfortable despite it seemingly being a surprise to Serena.

She conspires with Juliet and Vanessa against Serena, and it all goes too far when Serena ends up actually drugged. Jenny may never have expected it to get this far, but what did she expect from conspiring with a woman she barely knows, in a world that can be all too dangerous? She feels bad afterward, but Serena is put in a lot of danger. It happens.
